Opportunities

Homeschooling is not just about books.  Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of school and community based activities.  Older students have opportunities for work, internships, and community service.  Community events aimed at students will also be posted here.  Check back often to see what's happening. 

NEWSLETTER LOGO CONTEST, Native Education Newsletter, Juneau School District

Purpose: To communicate education news and opportunities with the families of 1200 JSD students of Alaska Native heritage, as well as with local leaders and organizations

Size: Rectangular: 7" x 2" or within a 3" x 3" space; submitted on a white 8-1/2 x 11 sheet

Color:  Permitted

Lettering: None 

 - First place:                $100.00 US Savings Bond

- Second place:           $75.00 US Savings Bond

- Third place:               $50.00 US Savings Bond

 Teacher of the student artist receives gift certificate in amount of $100.00 for purchase of supplies.

 Each poster must have the following information on the back of the entry:

- Student Name (first and last)

- Grade level

- School

- Teacher's Name

 POSTER CONTEST, Gastineau Rotary

Purpose: To promote the club's annual Day at the Lake for kids and families, Saturday, June 11, Twin Lakes 

Size: 8-1/2” x 11”
Color: Black and white only
Lettering: None (lettering will be added around artwork)

- First place:              $100.00 US Savings Bond
- Second place:         $75.00 US Savings Bond
- Third place:             $50.00 US Savings Bond

Teacher of the student artist winning first place with a gift certificate in the amount of $100.00 for purchase of art supplies in the classroom.  

Each poster must have the following information on the back of the entry:
